John Murphy, project executive for Miron Construction Co., Inc., was recently selected as the Construction Executive of the Year by The Daily Reporter as part of its 2015 Newsmakers of the Year awards program.

John is currently utilizing his 18 years of experience in the construction industry to lead the on-site project team at legendary Lambeau Field on the stadium improvement projects. John is responsible for planning, budgeting, and scheduling the project and works closely with design and construction teams to facilitate seamless project delivery, provide overall project strategy, guidance, and management of project development to ensure successful completion. One of John’s greatest strengths, as a leader, is his talent for establishing and maintaining a team atmosphere. His ability to collaborate with all members of the team, from the owner to the architect to the subcontractors and laborers, is uncanny. He understands the value of a team culture, realizing that as a team, even seemingly insurmountable challenges can be overcome. John is able to ensure every member of the team is driving toward the same goal and that the vision for the project remains at the forefront of every decision: a gift that every owner hopes to secure in a manager.

Mark Murphy, president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, had this to say about the award winner: “John Murphy has been an outstanding project manager for the Green Bay Packers and our major renovation and expansion of Lambeau Field and the Lambeau Field Atrium. His professionalism and thoroughness have been critical elements in a project that is centered on our most important asset: venerable Lambeau Field. In addition to our employees, Packers fans all over the world consider Lambeau to be a historic treasure. John’s approach to the project and the care with which he has led the effort made it obvious he shares that view. His leadership has provided seamless use of the facility for our fans and our staff, an imperative component for success. From an organization that knows the extreme value and importance of teamwork, John has been an invaluable teammate and performed at an ‘MVP’ level for the Green Bay Packers.”

“John is an internally hard-driven leader who uses a calculated and insightful planning approach to bring a wide variety of people together to successfully complete every project. He exhibits a unique quality that enables all participants to voice their opinions and feel appreciated in an effort to produce work that is centered on complete client satisfaction,” said Tim Kippenhan, vice president and COO of Miron. “John has performed at an extremely high level on a multitude of projects, and his recent work with the renovations at Lambeau Field is a testament to delivering a quality product in an expedited timeframe while maintaining a team environment throughout the project.”
