Project Description:

This project consisted of the construction of an industrial wastewater treatment-to-renewable energy facility that included:

  • All site work and tie-in to existing force main.
  • Anaerobic reactor and related gas safety equipment.
  • Aeration basin and clarifier.
  • Earthen-lined storage lagoons.
  • Administration/control building.
  • Biogas storage, H2S removal, compression, and drying equipment with enclosures.
  • 633kW biogas engine generator.
  • All above- and below-grade mechanical piping and ancillary equipment.
  • All electrical, control, and instrumentation.

Despite an extremely marshy landscape and demanding schedule, the team was able to achieve compliance with DOE 1603 grant requirements.

Project highlights include:

  • Design and installation of an 8.5 million gallon ADI-BVF® anaerobic reactor with floating cover.
  • Completion of 1,200 LF of footing and 12’ high retaining wall in 5 weeks.
  • Placement of a 1,000 cubic yard mat-slab foundation in one pour.
  • H2S removal utilizing both chemical and biological scrubbing.
  • Construction of new 36 million gallon lined storage lagoons.
