The scope of the project included 19,220 square feet of remodeling at the 53-year-old elementary school and reconfiguration of classrooms into a grade level cluster arrangement designed to improve teacher collaboration and instruction for K-4 students.
The grade level cluster model was designed into the 26,648 square-foot addition and 8,258 square feet of remodeling to the existing high school to create an exemplary 5th-8th grade middle school, allowing expanded educational opportunities to students while maintaining current staffing levels.
Features of the middle school addition include separate middle school entrance, office and playground spaces, additional classrooms, a team planning room for staff, a central lobby area for gathering and lockers, and a multipurpose space.
Remodeling of the facilities provided safety and security enhancements, roof and window replacements, and installation of energy-efficient mechanical systems. The project also provides additional and enhanced outdoor, gymnasium, and auditorium spaces for the community.
