The project consists of an addition, reconfiguration of existing space, and remodeling of the entire building. Updates include new HVAC, electrical, data and plumbing systems, and modifications for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The new space will house an updated technology education department featuring a “module lab” for hands-on plumbing, robotics, wiring and small engine repair, a woodshop, and print center with computer-aided drafting and screen-printing. The addition also includes a new choir room, office and practice rooms.
Renovated or relocated spaces include a new art room, agriculture and family/consumer education (which now includes a full commercial kitchen), a new project room for hands-on subjects, facilities for students with severe cognitive disabilities, a computer lab adjacent to the library, and a multipurpose room available for club and community meetings.
Security upgrades were made to the front entrance as well as the installation of security cameras throughout the site.
