Additions: The two-phase, 107,500 square-foot addition encompassed the new building, which contains an operating theater and a new lobby/registration area. The vertical expansion was constructed over the current operational ER, due to a lack of room and the inability to expand horizontally. During the process of constructing the addition, a temporary roof was erected to keep the structure weather tight. Intensive care and critical care units were added to the newly constructed space.
Remodel: A four-phase, 10,650 square-foot remodel was structured around daily hospital operations and consisted of a partial remodeling of the emergency care area, the interior remodeling of existing surgical suites (which became critical care and prep and hold rooms), and the remodeling of administration spaces and a special procedures room.
