Miron Construction has completed all work at the Orthopedic Sports Institute of The Fox Valley since the construction of the phase 1 Medical Office Building in 2005. The institute quickly recognized the value added by Miron not only for execution of the construction work, but also as a key partner during the design portion of both projects. Miron was instrumental in guiding the design team to incorporate the owner’s needs in a facility that provides an entirely new patient experience.
The goal of the original project was to increase revenue for the institute, reduce costs for patients, and reduce patient wait times. The aggressive goals meant that a traditional clinic would not suffice. Miron worked with the institute using our unique experience-based design services to re-imagine the patient experience in a way that increased efficiency while providing a more enjoyable, less stressful experience for the patient. The results from the initial construction were extraordinary. The cost for partial knee replacements was reduced by 34%, workers’ compensation patient revenue increased by 36%, patient wait times were reduced by 55%, and provider access time went from 7 to 3 days. The right building design, as a compliment to operational improvement, provided breakthrough results which lead the industry.
