The flood of 2008 displaced many of the student-focused offerings in the IMU. The goal of this project was to recover the home for the many displaced student services and provide protection from future flooding. Work inside focused mainly on the Ground Floor, with minor work on the first floor. The ‘Ground Floor’ has historically been dedicated to services for students. Outside, all four sides were steeled against future flooding by the installation of permanent and temporary flood walls. The IMU remained open during the entire project.
