Midwest Communications, Inc. selected Miron Construction Co., Inc. to lead the design-build initiative for a new Broadcast Center to serve Northeast Wisconsin. The facility is the broadcast center for seven radio stations in the Midwest group (WNCY, WIXX, WTAQ, WNFL, WROE, WOZZ and WZBY) in Wisconsin, and serves as the location of the company’s local (Fox River Valley) operations including their corporate headquarters, sales force, marketing team, and production facilities.
TEAM Miron worked closely with Midwest’s design team to assure that the building systems would support the critical transmission systems required throughout the building without being affected by the adjacent transmission towers currently in place. The project team worked through a variety of site design and approval challenges, and ultimately secured pricing 5% below the projected costs for the project.
This project positions Midwest Communications as a leader in the media industry for future generations. The new facility is also available for community-based activities and educational events, such as civic meetings and school tours. The facility’s atrium is utilized as a site for live concerts with national recording artists and live broadcasts of shows such as ‘Breakfast with the Boys.’
