Miron Construction completed three phases of expansions at a fully-operational private prison over the course of two years under the design-build delivery method.
- Phase I: 58,500 SF Expansion
- Phase II: 140,000 SF New Housing
- Phase III: Existing Facility Upgrades for FBOP
Phase I, completed in January 2008 entailed a 53,000 square-foot detention center to accommodate 318 federal detainees with an adjacent 5,500 square-foot support facility.
Phase II, completed in January 2009, consisted of an expansion of housing units which added 780 beds (1 dormitory style unit and 1 double-cell configuration style unit) on the opposite end of the campus. This phase also included a 32,347 square-foot administration/support facility for intake/processing, medical, visitation, food preparation/dining, laundry, and educational program spaces to address the needs of the added beds.
Phase III, completed in September 2010, included air conditioning upgrades to the existing facility and remodeling throughout to accommodate the Federal Bureau of Prisons contract.
