Miron Celebrates Clients’ WSPRA 2020 Spectrum Awards

Posted on May 7, 2021 by Education

For more than 15 years, Miron has taken an active role in the K-12 pre-referendum process by assisting school districts in educating the public through various means and methods. This year, the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA) honored four of our partner districts with Spectrum Awards for excellence in school communications. We are proud to have been a collaborator in the generation of these award-winning materials! Spectrum Awards recognize high-quality public relations efforts produced by or on behalf of Wisconsin school districts.

We heartily congratulate the following districts:

School District of Mauston | Award of Excellence, Referendum Campaign

Neenah Joint School District | Award of Excellence, Referendum Campaign and Best in Category, Referendum

Dodgeland School District | Award of Merit, Referendum Campaign

Southern Door County School District | Award of Excellence, Virtual Dedication Video

“The work submitted by the Spectrum Award winners is a testament to the importance of school communications and community engagement,” said WSPRA President Tracy Habisch-Ahlin. “This year of COVID has highlighted the critical role communication professionals play in education. The award winners demonstrate how schools and communities serve the needs of our children best when they work together to understand educational priorities and needs.”

WSPRA’s Spectrum Awards are judged by members of other school public relations associations throughout the United States, including from Illinois, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, New York, Texas, Alabama, Arizona, and South Carolina. All entries were judged on a 30-point scale in six areas: goals and objectives, research and planning, execution and evaluation, results, language, and design.

A key element in achieving a district’s facilities goals is the vital pre-referendum effort. Before ground can be broken, the district must educate the community regarding the needs and solutions, and convince the voters that the projects are warranted.
