Meet the Miron teams: Wausau, Wisconsin
Get to know the people who make up Miron’s Wausau team!
Who makes up your team?
The Wausau office is made up of 33 people who represent all aspects of Miron. We have project management and administration for civil and industrial projects, estimating, safety, and business development / marketing individuals.
What are some notable projects your team has recently worked on?
The remodel of CoVantage Credit Union’s facilities on Stewart Avenue transformed a landmark building in the city from the 1970s into the new anchor of planned development on the East side of the river. We continue to work with the Wausau School District and many surrounding districts on their planned expansions and renovations. Merrill’s outdoor aquatic center has created a lot of excitement for the upcoming summer when it will host its grand opening. Our relationship with Aspirus (Aspirus Pine Ridge Surgical Center, Wausau, Wis. pictured below) continues to grow from multiple projects in Wausau to work throughout northcentral Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula.
What is one local non-profit organization you’re passionate about giving back to and why?
We have numerous relationships with / involvement in organizations and events throughout the Wausau region. Two of the organizations that are near to the hearts of our team members are The Women’s Community (pictured below) and The Boys & Girls Club of Wausau. Our relationship started many years ago when we built new facilities for each of them. It has continued through sponsorship of their major fundraising events (Hooray for Hollywood and Wine, Cheese, and all that Jazz) along with continued efforts to support them on general maintenance projects and assisting with construction of a new garage through the donation of time and labor.
List three words to describe your office.
Passionate, Committed, and Relationships. The team members here take the time to build friendships with their clients that last well beyond our completion of their projects.
What is your favorite part about working in this city?
Wausau has an unbelievable amount of things to do for a community of its size. We are not the largest city by far, but the city provides many options from downtown settings to being able to hit the lakes for a little boating or fishing within a very short drive. Add to this the hiking and skiing on Rib Mountain / Granite Peak and you have opportunities for year-round fun.
What sets this office apart from the other Miron offices?
Our office is 22 years old—the oldest and largest of Miron’s satellite offices. We continue to grow each year and have a great staff of people who have been long-time Miron family members. Our most senior employees range from Jim Kraeger at 38 years with the company and Mark Burt with 25 to our newest employees who have been here only a few weeks/months and there is a wide range of experience in between. This is truly a great asset for our team members to use each other as resources when needed.
