Oshkosh city council approves $40 million for wastewater treatment plant upgrades
Posted by Miron Construction
Oshkosh city council members approved a $40 million plan to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant, but changes won’t happen overnight.
Council members discussed awarding two bids and two service agreements. Of the $40-plus million on the table, $33.2 million would go towards a Miron Construction contract.
That project would add new phosphorus removal filters and a UV disinfection building to replace chlorine gas at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Those changes are required by 2027 to protect river water quality and reduce chemical risks and long-term costs.
