Cedar Rapids, Iowa. – Miron Construction Co., Inc. recently hosted a blood drive for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. Sixteen donors participated in the drive, which ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Several project sites were involved including subcontractors and area businesses.
While the Cedar Rapids area needs a large amount of donated blood, a constant supply is also required, as donated blood has a shelf life of only 42 days and donated platelets last just five days. Miron hosted the drive as a way to give back to the community.
