A challenge to the community; an opportunity for everyone within it

We are so excited to be kicking off the 2017 United Way Fox Cities Community Campaign! (View photos of the Campaign Kickoff.) We live in an amazing community, but that doesn’t mean that we can rest on our laurels. There are still individuals in our local cities and towns who struggle to make ends meet and provide for their families, who battle mental illness, and who lack adequate access to education and proper health and human services. The only way to fix these issues is to confront them head-on. It’s going to take a whole lot of dollars and a whole lot of hands to tackle the societal epidemics that plague our community. But together, change is possible; together we can make a difference. United we fight, United we win!

I continue to be blown away by the commitment and contributions of so many great companies and donors across the Fox Cities. One thing we definitely don’t lack around here is heart and the desire to make things better. This area is well-renowned for its high quality of life, but we must work collectively to maintain and improve upon that reputation. We want every individual in this community to live a long, healthy, and happy life, and we have a responsibility as business leaders and citizens to make that happen. United Way brings the right people to the table to create solutions to some of our community’s biggest issues; issues that are far too vast for any one person, program, or agency to fix on its own. And in order to create those solutions, we need your support.

I work in a very competitive business, and I know how much competition can drive people. Therefore, I challenge you to make an investment in your community. I challenge you to dig deep inside yourself and deep within your pockets. We have a lofty goal this year: to raise $8.75 million. More importantly, our goal is to improve lives within the Fox Cities. Many of us lead a very blessed existence, but with those blessings comes an innate responsibility to give back; to ensure our fellow men, women, and children are able to live full and happy lives.

Remember, together we Live United, and together we can make this year’s campaign the most successful one yet!
