It’s that time of year: Quarry Quest, Miron’s and Michels Materials’ exciting day of construction, excavation and adventure, is just around the corner. This year’s event will take place on September 13 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Michels Materials Quarry, 700 Tullar Road, Neenah, and will include exciting activities old and new.
Kids and kids-at-heart will love exploring the inner-workings of an active quarry with hands-on educational activities. Go on a treasure hunt! Dig for fossils! Let the setting inspire rock-themed arts and crafts! Regular attendees of Quarry Quest can enjoy those fan favorites, and will still have new activities to discover, such as:
- Career Exploration – Learn about career opportunities from Quarry Quest’s major sponsors*; stop by the Career Exploration tent to learn more about how you can become part of the Michels, Miron, FABCO and Local 139 teams!
- Beneath the Surface – Did you know the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue Dive Team trains at the quarry throughout the year? Stop by to watch divers practice their specialized water rescue skills!
In addition to being fun for families, Quarry Quest is also fundamental for the community; all money raised at Quarry Quest goes to benefit local children’s charities and the Quarry Quest Environmental Education Fund. In the past 15 years, this event has raised more than $1.3 million!
