Dudley Tower parties tailgate-style for a cause
Since 2012, our Wausau office has hosted the Dudley Tower tailgate party, an annual event that involves all the businesses in the Dudley Tower, as well as surrounding businesses, local major subcontractors and suppliers, and field staff of area job sites. The party is a great opportunity for entertainment, comradery and collaboration, but it also serves a larger purpose – fundraising for Wausau area kids and families in need.
Since 2012, funds raised at the tailgate party have helped purchase gifts for the kids who attend the Wausau Children’s Christmas Party. This includes toys, clothing, shoes and winter items such as jackets, snow pants, boots, mittens and hats. Due to the outpouring of support and the great participation the last few years, funds were also distributed to the following areas:
- Paid utility bills for families in need
- Donated to Salvation Army of Wausau
- Donated to local fundraiser benefitting Wausau’s homeless youth
- Worked with North Central Health Care to identify additional family needs
Since its inception, more than $20,000 has been raised through the Dudley Tower tailgate party. A special thank you to retired Miron superintendent Bert Pieper, Sr. and his wife Linda for their volunteer time and dedication, and to the Miron Wausau team for donating their personal time and money to create the excellent raffle baskets.
It takes a village to raise a child; here at Miron, we’re proud to be part of that village for the kids and families in Wausau.
