Definitely the top moment of 2017 was earning my FAA Remote Pilot Certificate allowing me to capture some amazing images of our projects from the air.

My favorite Miron moment was spending the day on the turbulent waters of Lake Poygan for the Miron Fishing Contest. We had a very successful day. Pictured is First Mate Paul LaPree with a handsome stringer of “keepers.” We came in dead last with just one walleye brought on board our boat, “Chick Magnet II,” by the First Mate.  The day was rich with camaraderie and a little comedy. The weigh-in party was a great time, sharing stories and lies with the other, more successful, anglers.

My favorite moment was sharing a team lunch at the Il Mito chef’s table in Wauwatosa, during which Chef Michael Feker prepared and discussed the food and wine pairings.

Greg Douglas Vice President, Construction Innovation

My favorite moment was the Pre-construction team building event this year. It was so nice to see the team spend a day together having so much fun. The group is truly a family in every sense of the word. I am blessed to be a part of such a special group of talented people who genuinely care for each other.

Another special moment for me was to see Jen receive the annual “Unsung Hero” award from The Daily Reporter. It was great to witness the pride her family had in her; I could tell how much it meant to them to celebrate the wonder of Jen Bauer.

Working at Miron in 2017 brought many memorable moments, such as team building days, Build Like a Girl, and Take a Child to Work Day, to name a few. However, one of my favorite events this year was the Halloween Party. Several of us joined forces to dress up as characters from Disney’s Toy Story. We had a lot of fun organizing our costumes, and to see it all come together was a story worth telling! Needless to say, our group definitely went to “infinity and beyond.”

My four favorite events of 2017:

  • Summer team building with the Risk, HR and Maintenance departments. Our entire group had a blast floating down the Crystal River in Waupaca!
  • The Fin ‘n Feather boat trip. Great music, great food, great time!
  • The EUA Beyond Design Bike Tour. A great ride with my wonderful team members – Rob, Julie, Maria, and Kate!
  • Tradespeople Appreciation Events. It’s an honor to serve those who work so hard to build Miron’s projects!

My favorite moment of 2017 – and actually my entire life – was our new baby boy, Waylon. I don’t know how I ever lived without him.

My favorite ‘Miron’ moment of 2017 is shown in the screen shot below. Paul was promoted to VP of Project Management this year. I work in Project Management, so I already know Royce is a great leader, and having Paul join him is awesome.

It’s great to have Paul back in the Neenah office.

Theresa Lehman Director of Sustainable Services

Breakfast at the Red Rooster, winning the go-carting competition (even with Blake and Corey trying to get me to spin out), a boat cruise followed by Brian and Tonya diving off the end of the dock with all of their clothes on, and ending the day at the War Bonnet. Good times, many laughs, great people, and unforgettable Miron family memories.

The Miron Canadian fishing trip was the highlight of the year; it was an honor to be asked to be involved. We have a great bunch of people in this company. I had a fantastic time and will remember this as the best fishing trip I’ve ever been on.

Another great highlight was taking over a challenging project that was already in progress, and working with Sherry Wall and D3 to complete it in a tight schedule. My new project assignment also has a very good team, and I am looking forward to working with them. Thank you Miron; it’s a pleasure!

I would have to say my most memorable time this year was our HR, Safety/Risk, and Maintenance team building trip – tubing!

My favorite moment from 2017 was our pre-construction team building event in September. First we went out for breakfast while waiting out the rain. Once the rain let up, we raced go-karts in Bonduel (Theresa took first). After racing, we headed back to Corey and Theresa’s cottage to ride on the boat and have dinner. Even though it was pretty cold out, Brian and Tonya decided it was time to go swimming and jumped in the water as the group was getting off the boat!

My favorite Miron Moment was from August, when I had the privilege of riding 37 windy and rainy miles with these fine folks in EUA’s Beyond Design Bike Tour. We had a blast seeing the beautiful countryside, and getting to know each other along the way. Best of all, it was for a good cause – the event raised more than $100,000 for local charities. It was a great day!

My favorite moment of 2017 was playing Mrs. Claus at the annual holiday party Miron hosted for many of the kids from Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha.
