Miron Participates in Habitat for Humanity’s 2022 Women Build

Posted on Jan 11, 2023 by Community
We asked members of the Women’s Network to dig deep and consider volunteering for the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity 2022 Women Build. Even though this initiative was new to many and most had little construction experience, 25 Miron women rallied together and volunteered over the course of four days to help build a house for Shaunna and her son, Keltin.

Throughout the build days, Miron women completed a wide-range of work, forever leaving their mark on the home. They constructed stairs, installed trim, and hung siding, sheet rock, and cabinets.

Soon after the finishing touches were put into place, the homeowner and her son received the keys in time to celebrate their first Christmas in their new home.
The video below captures Miron’s participation in the Women Build and how truly impactful this experience was for Shaunna and Keltin along with our Miron volunteers.
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more, is a quote that Dave G. Voss, Jr. often shares, and the 25 Miron women who volunteered truly embodied this. In addition to our volunteers, Miron was the Build’s Diamond Sponsor. This sponsorship helped provide the means necessary for the best possible outcome for Shaunna and Keltin’s home.
Habitat for Humanity board members and volunteers, Miron volunteers, and community members gathered to celebrate the home’s completion!
“Habitat has taught me that there are still wonderful people in the world.”

To all those who rallied together and lent a helping hand in the Women Build, we thank you!
