With our corporate headquarters located in Neenah and so many employees whose children are in the Neenah school district, partnering with the Neenah Rockets as they work to upgrade their stadium was a completely natural fit. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to enhance facilities that our employees, their families, and our community use.
For more than 30 years, Rocket Stadium has been a wonderful place to enjoy track meets in the spring, and both Friday night football games and marching band halftime performances in the fall. This facility has served every student who has attended the Neenah public school system since it was built. The stadium has provided a starting point for many young competitors who have gone on to enjoy collegiate and professional athletic success. The stadium also plays host to multiple community events throughout the year, such as wellness education classes, Relay for Life, summer youth programs, park and recreation department activities, walking and jogging groups, as well as soccer tournaments.
That said, time has taken its toll and Rocket Stadium is in need of makeover. The press box and audio system are in disrepair, restrooms and concession stands are outdated and the stadium entrance is both underwhelming and dysfunctional. Therefore, the Neenah Quarterback Club is working with other booster clubs and the school district to reach a campaign goal of $750,000.
Work on the new Rocket Stadium entrance, sign and ticket booth is slated to begin this July, as fundraising continues for a new press box, sound system, rest rooms, and concession stand.
“Our committee is really excited about the progress we have made since kicking off the Pledge with Pride campaign last August. Our goal has been to significantly improve the stadium experience for our student athletes, fans, and community members who utilize Rocket Stadium,” stated Jon Joch, director of revenue enhancements & business services support for Neenah Joint School District.
