Clintonville activates new wastewater plant

An open house and ribbon cutting was held Wednesday for the new $10 million wastewater treatment plant in Clintonville.

The city of Clintonville has provided wastewater treatment since the 1950s. The plant had operated well since the 1990 upgrade, but several pieces of equipment needed replacement, and the electrical and mechanical systems in the storage tank adjacent to the airport was not a long-term approach that the airport would support. As a result of the aging equipment and the need to provide an alternative sludge storage facility, the city pursued a facilities plan to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant.
