Bob Schmidt, Director of Buildings and Grounds for the School District of Osceola, updated board members of facility projects currently underway and informed members about a recent tennis court evaluation.

On April 7, 2020, the voters within the School District of Osceola passed two referendum questions, including a facility needs referendum. The facility needs referendum is for the purpose of paying tech costs of capital maintenance projects at the high school, middle school and intermediate school including replacements and upgrades to mechanical, lighting, roofing, HVAC, electrical and security systems; and equipment acquisitions related to said projects.

“We started the Middle School secure entrance project June 6,” said Schmidt in his report to the Board. “To refresh memories we are switching the location of the main bathrooms and the main office to make a secure entrance. This will be the same entrance design as the High School and Intermediate School. All visitors will need to go through the office before entering the building.”
