Ribbon-Cutting for FBS Building 433

There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the completion of their new state of the art fabrication building they call “Building 433”. This new large building in Bay Ship’s south yard is an 80,000 square foot manufacturing building which stands 110 feet tall. General Manager Todd Thayse described the structure as one of the largest capital expansions in the shipyard, a project which began as an idea in 2015 after the assets of nearby Palmer Johnson became available. Through permits, variances, negotiations, and agreements with the city, Building 433 now marks a huge shipyard advancement while keeping the campus homogenous. During the ceremony remarks, Miron Construction Project Executive Kurt Wolfgram expressed thanks for everyone involved with the project construction. Mayor Dave Ward called the project the biggest thing to happen in Sturgeon Bay in 30 years and it will affect the city for the next 30 years.
