Smart Girls Rock inspires STEM careers for girls

The third annual Smart Girls Rock! event was held at Miron Construction to introduce freshman and sophomore female students to STEM careers. Miron teamed up with Miller Electric and the Talent Collaborative of the Fox Cities to host the event. About 100 students experienced group mentoring with women in STEM-related professions and participated in other interactive activities. The event allowed girls to set career goals and start taking steps to realize the realities of those goals. Stations included things like welding, healthcare and crime scene investigation. Melissa Schulteis, a virtual construction specialist at Miron Construction, led a hands-on session interacting with digital models in Miron’s Construction Innovation Lab. Watch the video…
