Wausau, Wis. – Bone & Joint recently announced plans to begin construction on a 15,100-square-foot facility in Plover, Wis. Miron Construction Co., Inc. will serve as the design-builder on the project and partnering with architectural firm, HDR, Inc.

“Our building project is a commitment to this community in providing easy access to comprehensive care, including interventional pain management, sports medicine, walk-in care, and workers compensation,” Bone & Joint President, Ben Hackett, MD. said.

The new facility, which will house progressive orthopaedic clinical spaces, as well as areas for physical therapy, pain management and outpatient procedures, is scheduled to break ground in November 2015 (notice of a formal groundbreaking will be sent at a later date). Approximately 20 team members including highly skilled physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, radiology technologists and medical assistants will staff the facility, set to be completed in July 2016.

Hackett went on to add, “being part of the Aspirus Network, we wanted to better support referring providers in this community with the specialty services we provide.”

“After hearing the requests of patients in the Portage and Wood County areas, we quickly realized the need to bring Bone & Joint’s high-quality care to this market,” added Terry Lawrence, CEO of Bone & Joint.

Sport & Spine, a physical therapy provider and partner of Bone & Joint, will be leasing 2,100 square feet of the new facility.
