Miron Construction begins work on environmentally clean power plant in Marquette, Michigan

Miron Construction Co., Inc. is partnering with Sargent & Lundy, LLC to build the Marquette Energy Center in Marquette, Michigan. Construction on the power plant for the Marquette Board of Light and Power began in June 2016 and is scheduled for completion in October 2016 with commercial operation scheduled for June 2017.

Miron’s scope of work on the project includes civil and substructure construction, including underground gas mechanical piping and electrical infrastructure. When complete, the Marquette Energy Center will house three environmentally clean reciprocating internal combustion engines that can supply the community with 54 megawatts of power.
