Miron Construction builds new fire station for City of Madison
Miron Construction Co., Inc., in partnership with OPN Architects, recently began construction to build a new $6.3 million fire station for the City of Madison.
The 19,000-square-foot fire station will include six pull-through apparatus bays. The public area will consist of a large break room, a community room, and two small meeting rooms. The core portion of the building will include a restroom, gear space, emergency medical services storage, and a laundry room, while living quarters will hold offices, dormitories, a fitness room, and great room with a kitchen.
This project, seeking LEED Silver Certification, also features solar photovoltaics, geothermal power, and solar thermal hot water. Miron’s work on the project began in February 2018 and is scheduled for completion in December 2018.
