Miron Construction Co., Inc. promotes four employees at corporate headquarters

Neenah, Wis.Miron Construction Co., Inc. recently promoted four employees at its corporate headquarters in Neenah, Wis.

Joe Malchow has been promoted to industrial project executive. Joe has worked as a project manager for Miron for the past eight years managing project activities such as preliminary planning, budget development, financial control, value engineering, scheduling, coordination of construction activity, project closeout and owner occupancy. Joe is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Stout and has his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction. Joe is also a LEED AP – BD+C. In his new role, Joe will be responsible for focusing on preconstruction and value-added services for facilities within the industrial market. Joe lives in Oshkosh, Wis., with his wife Nicole, son Andrew and daughter Abbie.

Shelly Retzlaff, who previously served as director of project coordination, has been promoted to project manager. Shelly has worked for Miron for the past 20 years, initially serving as a project coordinator before taking on the role of managing Miron’s entire staff of project coordinators. Shelly’s previous job duties included developing and coordinating communication and  process flow procedures for, as well as new technologies within, the operations department; monitoring reports to ensure proper documentation; and hiring and directing coordination staff. In her new role as project manager, Shelly will be responsible for managing all project activities, including preliminary planning, budget development, financial control, value engineering, scheduling, coordination of construction activity, project closeout and owner occupancy. Shelly lives in Kaukauna, Wis., with her daughter Abby and boyfriend Pat.

Kurt McArthur has been promoted to project manager. Kurt, who has been with Miron for the past 10 years, most recently serving as general superintendent for its food group, has 25+ years of experience in the construction industry. In his role as superintendent, Kurt directed all field personnel, coordinated all subcontractor activities while adhering to the construction schedule, and maintained a risk-free work environment to ensure the safety of all staff and construction personnel who accessed his sites. As project manager, Kurt will be responsible for managing all project activities, including preliminary planning, budget development, financial control, value engineering, scheduling, coordination of construction activity, project closeout and owner occupancy. Kurt lives in Fond du Lac, Wis., with his wife and four children.

Laurie Donker has also been promoted to project manager. Laurie has been with the Miron team for the past seven years, serving as a project coordinator, but has worked in the construction industry for the past 11 years. In her previous role, Laurie was responsible for assisting project managers with all aspects of project coordination, including project recordkeeping, submittals, budget tracking, financial controls, scheduling, coordination of construction activity, project closeout and owner occupancy. Laurie’s past work experience has certainly prepared her for her new position. As project manager, Laurie will manage all project activities, including preliminary planning, budget development, financial control, value engineering, scheduling and coordination of construction activity. Laurie lives in Appleton, Wis. with her boyfriend Tom.
