On Thursday, Jan. 19, Miron Construction Co., Inc. was recognized with three awards, celebrating the generosity of its employees for their efforts in giving back to the community, at the United Way Fox Cities 2016 Campaign Celebration. For the fifth year in a row, Miron surpassed its campaign goal, raising more than $180,000 for United Way.
Miron received the Employee Campaign Manager / Team of the Year Award for the third year in a row in the medium organization category (151-499 workers) for its 70 percent growth in overall giving and the Kimberly-Clark Giving Award for the second year in a row for its 57 percent increase in employee giving. In addition, the company was recognized with the Leadership Giving and Emerging Leader Award for growing Leadership Givers (donors who pledge $1,000 or more) by 43 percent in 2016 and Emerging Leaders (donors age 40 and under who pledge $500 or more) by 45 percent.
“I am continually humbled by the incredible generosity of our employees. Their commitment to making the communities, in which we live, work, and play, even stronger is unsurpassed,” said David G. Voss, Jr., president and CEO of Miron. “To know that our contributions will help to positively impact 1 in 3 people in the Fox Cities, as well as individuals within other communities where we operate our business, shows that our team members are passionate about building excellence beyond the confines of our industry.”
The fundraising efforts of Miron and other participants resulted in United Way Fox Cities surpassing its 2016 campaign goal of $8.45 million, the most it has ever raised.
Voss completed his first year as United Way Fox Cities campaign co-chair and will partner with Dustin McClone in 2017 to help raise awareness for the organization, share its mission and promote giving within the community to help provide assistance to more than 100,000 people.
