Miron Construction honored by United Way Fox Cities with two awards for employee giving
On Wednesday, Jan. 27, Miron Construction Co., Inc. was recognized with two awards celebrating the generosity of its employees for their efforts in giving back to the community at United Way Fox Cities 2015 Campaign Celebration. For the fourth year in a row, Miron surpassed its campaign goal, raising more than $107,000 for United Way.
Miron received the Employee Campaign Manager / Team of the Year award in the medium organization (151-499 workers) category for its 31 percent growth in overall giving that included a 30 percent increase in participation. That increase earned the company the Kimberly-Clark Corporate Challenge Giving Award, which is presented to the company with the greatest increase in employee giving.
“I am so proud of our employees,” said David G. Voss, Jr., president & CEO of Miron. “Giving back to the communities in which we live, work and play is one of our organization’s core drivers. To see that our employees truly embody the spirit of giving is incredibly humbling. We feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community and that we have the resources and means to give back to it.”
The fundraising efforts of Miron and other participants resulted in United Way Fox Cities surpassing its 2015 campaign goal of $8.3 million, the most it has ever raised. The money will help fund programs that are estimated to impact 1 in 3 people in the Fox Cities.
During the Campaign Celebration, it was also announced that Dave Voss will serve as the new campaign co-chair for the 2016 and 2017 campaigns. He will partner with Mike Weller, CEO of Weller & Associates, as co-chair to help raise awareness for the organization, share its mission and promote giving in the community to help provide assistance to more than 100,000 people.
