Miron Construction’s Dan Bayer to teach Advanced Revit Family workshop at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Neenah, Wis. – Dan Bayer, director of virtual construction for Miron Construction Co., Inc., will teach an Advanced Revit Family workshop at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee – School of Architecture and Urban Planning on Nov. 16, 2012. Bayer will co-teach with Daniel Hughes, Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategist with Bradley Corporation.
The scope of the class will include a hands-on approach to teaching the technical aspects and best practices of building Revit families. Bayer and Hughes will share with students the value of collaboration, such as when the designer, contractor and manufacturer partner together beginning with the design phase through the construction phase. The standards, procedures and Revit models developed for the Bradley Revit Family Library will be used during the teaching of this class.
“It’s important for young architects and those interested in related fields to have opportunities for hands-on learning,” Bayer said. “Both Daniel and I will be able to combine our BIM expertise to make this a valuable learning experience for UWM architecture students.”
Bayer has more than 14 years of experience in BIM technologies implementation and education in organizations nationally. He focuses on the communication and collaboration aspects of BIM with design partners, building owners and subcontractors through the construction process. He is a certified Revit Architecture Expert and an Associate Member (Wisconsin) of the American Institute of Architects.
Hughes is an expert Revit-BIM consultant and author of BradleyBIM.com. Since 2002 he has given classroom and onsite Revit training to more than 650 professionals and has served as the senior Revit implementation manager for more than 130 national design, engineering and construction firms.
