“Project Lead the Way” Engineering Students Present Projects at Miron Construction
On Tuesday, May 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., civil engineering and architecture students from Winneconne High School will present their commercial library projects at Miron Construction Co., Inc. The students were tasked with taking an existing library and completing the design work to renovate it, including both engineering and design aspects. Mentors from Miron, who have assisted in guiding the students throughout the process, will be on-hand to help critique presentations and provide advice and suggestions.
The Winneconne students are part of a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering class, an AP class that partners with Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). Over the past few months, mentors from Miron have presented to students about a few current construction projects, toured jobsites, and visited the high school to teach them about sustainability and LEED. On May 16, the students will present their finished library projects in Miron’s Ci (Construction Innovation) Lab.
