April Fools’ 5K Brings Fun to the Run
Named after a day typically reserved for silly pranks and jokes, you can expect the OSI-Miron April Fools’ 5K Fun Run/Walk to be a little different from the rest. It’s held on a Friday night instead of a Saturday or Sunday morning. It’s also held earlier in the year than most runs, serving as the unofficial kick-off to the local race season.
The event, now in its seventh year, averages 800-1,000 participants running and walking the course from Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley (OSI) to Appleton North High School. All proceeds from the race benefit the Appleton Area School District High School Athletic Programs. A total of $90,000 has been raised to-date.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, March 31st at 6pm and will feature plenty of fun both on the course and after. There will be an awards presentation and family fun activities at Appleton North High School immediately following race. There will also be a post-race party at The Stone Yard featuring the local band RPM.
Co-sponsored by OSI and Miron, this is a family-friendly event – strollers and wagons are welcome! Pets are also welcome as long as they are on a leash. For more information and to register, check out the April Fools’ 5K website.
