Be Green in ’18!
We’re back, and this time, we have an even bigger grand prize at stake! The team at Miron Construction is excited to bring back the Be Green video contest to promote environmental education and kick off Green Apple Day of Service. The goal of the video contest is to incentivize Wisconsin K-12 school staff, teachers, and students to lead sustainable actions that will create measurable change in one or more of the three pillars of a green school: environmental impact, health and wellness, and environmental and sustainability literacy. We had so many great submissions last year, including the winning submission from Madison Elementary School in Stevens Point, that we decided to up the ante this year!
Miron Construction was founded in 1918, which means we’re celebrating 100 years in business this year. In honor of our centennial year, Miron is giving away $1,918 to the school that shows us their best ideas of how they could Be Green in ’18! Imagine how your school could be green with $1,918 … now make a video to tell us about it!
To enter, you must be associated with a private or public Wisconsin K-12 school, classroom or non-profit educational organization. Create a video, one minute or less, and upload it to your school’s or organization’s Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Instagram account – don’t forget the hashtag #MironBeGreenIn18 and to tag Miron Construction! The grand prize winner will win $1,918, and the remaining submissions will be included in a book we’ll write together – 100 Ways to Green Your School/Classroom. Your ideas will be attributed to your school, and books will be distributed on Earth Day – April 22, 2019. The contest will run Sept. 25 through Nov. 6, and the winner will be announced on Nov. 11. Good luck! Be green!!
