Celebrating our 2025 Summer Interns

Posted by miron_admin

We’re thrilled to spotlight the contributions of our summer interns! Our interns are talented individuals who bring fresh perspectives and boundless energy to our team. Each intern has made an impact on our team and projects, and this impact is sure to last for years to come. While internships are designed for the intern to learn, we are learning from them every day.

While we are grateful for their contributions all summer long, we are extra appreciative of them this National Intern Day. Here’s why:

  • They bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
  • They show unmatched enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
  • They help us stay ahead of industry trends and technologies.
  • They helped us earn our spot on Employ Humanity’s Best Internship Program list for the second year in a row! Check it out here.

Let’s hear from some of them!

Miron’s internship program allows you to learn a lot about construction in a short amount of time, and if you are willing to learn, your mentors are willing to help you achieve what you want to achieve. You will be recognized for your work.

The biggest thing I have learned between my two years of interning at Miron is the importance of communication. Communication between all players on the project site is what drives the project forward and learning how to communicate effectively has been engrained by my mentors on both of my projects.

I chose to work at Miron because of the atmosphere of exciting teamwork that I sensed in my interview and online research. I also thought (and still think) that their projects are exciting and full of opportunities to grow. When deciding, another huge factor I considered was the simple question, “Could I see myself working for Miron full time after I graduate college?” The answer to that question was yes, and for that reason, I am excited to be building relationships that will be beneficial for the rest of my career.

I know it sounds cliché, but everyone at Miron truly cares about everyone, including interns. From the HR heads to the owners to the PMs that are our mentors, everyone cares about our safety, understanding, development, and enjoyment of the summer. All the people that step foot into your experience will be excited to help you grow in your knowledge and understanding of the construction industry.

In the short month I’ve been here, I’ve gained a deep understanding of how this industry operates. I’ve worked with people who have done nothing but support me in every way. As a project management intern, I get to learn and understand everything about being a project manager. Being hands-on has given me technical knowledge, soft skills, and a clear map on how to succeed in a professional environment.

This internship has helped me grow professionally and personally. It gives me a sense of purpose, direction, and a team determined to help me fulfill it. This is not a “sit and observe” job, or a sideline internship. It’s a “jump in with two feet” type of internship and I get to make things happen every day and be a part of something bigger. I can tell it’s an experience that is shaping my summer and my future.

I knew beforehand that Miron’s internship program was designed to be more than a summer internship. Miron emphasizes learning by doing and learning about the company and the industry overall, which is what I wanted.

I now better understand not only the construction process itself but the manner in which things actually operate in the industry. It has provided a realistic perspective of what work would be like on a day-to-day basis, how issues arise, and how to solve them. The experience has certainly allowed me to form a better understanding of and reaffirmed my interest in the industry.

The main reason I chose Miron for my internship was because of their strong reputation. Through online research, word of mouth, and testimonials, I consistently heard Miron spoken of with a high regard – both as a great company to work for and as a top-tier construction company.

Coming into this internship, I had basically no background in construction, so from day one, I was constantly learning. This experience has prepared me for the real world through the sheer amount of knowledge I’ve gained just by being onsite and working closely with my project manager, superintendent, and subcontractors. I am constantly learning to communicate effectively with multiple parties to make sure that nothing falls through.

Ben Westaby, project management intern on Eau Claire industrial projects | Junior at University of Wisconsin – Stout

I chose Miron because of the lasting impact the company has had on both me and my community. During high school, I witnessed Miron’s unmatched quality and experience on major construction projects within Chippewa Falls Area School District. These projects helped ignite my interest in the construction industry.

Unlike other internship stories where interns are stuck fetching coffee, organizing files or looking over a shoulder, I get to do the job. My mentor is not afraid to have me doing real applicable tasks on a daily basis. I get to write quotes and bid proposals, attend pre bid walkthrough and final inspections, and coordinate tasks with subcontractors and suppliers. All these tasks are things that I will need to do throughout the remainder of my career.

Miron has provided feedback towards my resume and networking skills, and without their helpful guidance, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Additionally, the time and money they’re willing to invest in their internship program shows that they care about us and want us to succeed. When I accepted my internship offer, I never could’ve imagined the experience that was going to come with.

What stood out most to me was that this internship isn’t centered around traditional design work, but rather on integrating technology into the construction process to enhance efficiency and solve real-world problems. That hands-on, innovative approach really aligned with my interests.

My favorite thing about working at Miron is being part of projects that have a real, lasting impact on people and communities. It’s incredibly rewarding to mention I work at Miron and hear someone immediately connect it to a school, hospital, or community space that has touched their life. Even if I wasn’t involved in that specific project, it’s a proud moment to be part of a company whose work resonates so deeply with others. It makes you feel like you’re contributing to something much bigger, something that creates a positive, meaningful footprint across the region.

What sets Miron apart is the culture. Even as an intern, you’re treated as a valued member of the team. Whether you’re on-site, in the break room, or attending company events, you feel genuinely included and supported.

Alli Engler, marketing & events intern in Neenah | Senior at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse

Growing up in the Fox Valley, I was always aware of Miron’s presence and the positive impact it has had on the area. I wanted to be part of a team where I could grow professionally and gain experience from talented people in the industry, while also being a part of a company whose values align with my own.

My internship has given me a deeper understanding of the corporate world and helped me grow personally and professionally. I have learned how to collaborate with a wide range of people, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute to a team. Additionally, I have learned how to build a professional network, take initiative, and step into leadership roles. I have been supported and pushed to challenge myself, problem solve, and get out of my comfort zone. Miron has shaped me into someone that takes opportunities with confidence and has prepared me to be the best version of myself going forward in the workforce.

The internship program at Miron is designed to set you up for success. You will get hands on experience, be able to learn from a talented mentor, have opportunities to network with other interns, and get the chance to build relationships with people across the company. It is the perfect opportunity to learn, grow, and start off your professional career on the right foot.
