Get you hands on some fruit-filled pastries at the 40th Kolach Festival, where it’s all about the food. This three-day festival offers plenty of food, live music, games, carnival rides, a silent auction, bingo and much more. Bring your family and friends out to kick off summer the right way.
Cedar Rapids Run the Flood: 5th Anniversary Event

The flooding that occurred in the spring of ’08 was the worst flooding in Cedar Rapids’ history. To help raise funds for recovery and awareness for rebuilding, the seven-mile run and two-and-a-half-mile walk was planned. What started as a one-year commemoration has now turned into an annual event that continues to raise money for recovery and recognizes progress throughout the years. People of all athletic abilities are encouraged to participate. Join the community as everyone runs together to rebuild, recover and remember.

Each year thousands of Iowa residents come together to celebrate our country through the many events and activities offered during the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival. A few of this year’s events include Jump for Freedom Dock Dogs, Sand in the City, Fido’s Freedom 5K – Fun Run/Walk, Star Spangled Concert, Balloon Glow, Freedom Festival Parade, Movie Night at the Ballpark, KidZone and Ferris Wheel and 30th anniversary Celebration of Freedom Fireworks. Blueberry Bonanza at Wilson’s Orchard

Bring your family out for the first tractor rides of the year, from noon to 4 p.m. during Blueberry Bonanza. There will be other activities taking place as well. Try fresh blueberries, or pick up a frozen blueberry pie. You can also try Bevo’s Blueberry Buckle, or the traditional apple turnovers, apple cider donuts and apple cider slushies. Following your tractor ride, stop into the sales barn to browse through the selection of treats and local goods.

Calling all music lovers and blues enthusiasts! Bring you blankets and chairs out to Brucemore’s First Avenue lawn and enjoy live music from the LCBS All Star Band, The Scott Holt Band, Lucky Peterson ft.
