Menasha construction apprenticeship puts students to work
Construction companies are struggling to find workers. In a survey by the Homebuilder’s Association of the Fox Cities, members reported significant shortages in electrical workers, carpenters, painters and more.
Meanwhile, in Menasha High School, senior Justin Stanchik looks around his new favorite room, admiring traces of the 1930s building and what he helped remodel over the last year. “I get to see how hard we worked and how long we worked in one room,” says Stanchik. “Just to get it the way we want it.” As part of Menasha’s first construction apprenticeship program, Stanchik and two others spent the first half of their school days with Miron Construction to completely renovate the school.
