Prospect kicks off building

Nearly 600 tiny yellow hard hats swarmed a construction site Monday a ground was broken for Lake Mills’ new Prospect Elementary School.

Students, teachers and community members attended the celebration to kick off the district’s $18.7 million construction project on the north side of the current school site.

“This is a special day to honor and thank all of the people who have played an important role in advocating for our new school,” said Amanda Thompson, principal at Prospect Elementary School. “It’s also a day to remember that we are building this new school for all of you – for the children of our community.”
