16th year of Quarry Quest digs up funds! Annual event raises $73,000 for local children’s charities

Neenah, Wis. Quarry Quest, an exciting day of construction, excavation and adventure, celebrated its 16th year on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Michels Materials Quarry in Neenah. The crowd of more than 15,000 children and adults allowed Quarry Quest to raise more than $73,000 for various children’s charities in the Fox Valley Area, as well as for the Quarry Quest Environmental Educational fund, which is dedicated to funding grants for classroom supplies and field trips related to earth science and geology.

The $73,000 raised at this year’s event adds to the more than $1.3 million raised in the last 15 years at which attendees explore the inner-workings of an active quarry with hands-on educational activities. Some 150 businesses and more than 1,200 volunteers helped make the 2014 Quarry Quest a memorable experience for all involved.
