Miron Construction to hold F.O.C.U.S. / STEM Construction & Sustainability Day
Neenah, Wis. – Miron Construction Co., Inc. will host fifth through eighth graders who will explore an array of professions in the construction industry via participation in hands-on learning activities relating to science, technology, engineering and mathematics on Thursday, April 19th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m.
Students will rotate between three stations, which will cover topics such as sustainability, building information modeling and estimating. Prizes will be awarded at two of the three stations. While students participate in these activities, parents will be given the opportunity to tour Miron’s Gold LEED certified office and enjoy refreshments.
“We want to highlight different aspects of the construction industry and tie them to the importance of science, technology, engineering and math using a fun, educational approach that focuses on how we are minimizing waste across the industry, which is the core of sustainability,” said Theresa Lehman, Miron’s director of sustainable services.
Students will have the chance to speak with, and learn from, Miron Construction employees as they pass through each station. Up to 60 children can participate in F.O.C.U.S./STEM Construction & Sustainability Day, a program of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce.
