Project Overview
The Bone and Joint Musculoskeletal and Surgery Center in Wausau is an example of Miron’s capabilities starting during the design phase of a project and following up with expert execution during construction, commissioning, and the start of operations.
The 42,500 SF building provides a one-stop shop for patients by offering clinical and physical therapy functions on the lower level with a full Ambulatory Surgery Center and medical offices on the upper level. Clinical areas include four pain management rooms, five extremity exam rooms, and fifteen general exam rooms. There are also four cast rooms, radiology services with two X-ray rooms and one MRI. The physical therapy areas are designed to assist patient recovery in a comfortable, accessible, and effective facility. Through careful planning during the design phase, the team developed a bi-level building concept which allows for grade-level access to each floor therefore reducing the travel distance from car to clinic. This design also reduced construction costs by minimizing building façade costs and reducing cut/fill operations on the site. Miron’s input during the preliminary design process allowed the team to develop a very cost-effective solution which improves patient care and provides an operationally efficient building.
