The Community Services Building is the county’s first new construction project to open following the 2008 flood and replaces two flood-damaged county buildings. The two-story, 97,000-square-foot facility is built on 9.6 acres and houses many of the county’s human services departments. The facility provides efficiencies in the county government by bringing together departments that were in four separate locations.
The building houses Options of Linn County, Linn County Community Services (LCCS), General Assistance, Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, Home Health, Aging and Disabilities Resource Center, Veteran Affairs, and the county’s Information Technology department.
The project was funded by FEMA, I-JOBS, and Linn County Disaster Recovery Bonds.
