Project Overview
Dane County Regional Airport serves more than 1.6 million travelers per year, and annual passenger increases of 4 to 6 percent a year (well above the national average) have led to a shortage of covered parking and prompted this vertical expansion. Existing demand was already greater than the supply of the ramp, and studies forecast a need for additional spaces over the next 10 years.
This project added three floors onto the existing parking ramp adjacent to the terminal, increasing the amount of spaces by 1,500. The project also included restoration of the existing 3,200 parking stalls in the existing ramps. Pre-cast construction ensured a proper match of the architectural design of the current parking ramp. Site improvements were also included.
