Project Overview
An aging, overcrowded elementary school prompted the Lake Mills Area School District to conduct extensive community research, resulting in a successful referendum to replace the existing elementary with a new facility on the same site.
K-4 students and the Lake Mills community will benefit from the new, energy-efficient, highly-sustainable two-story elementary school designed to serve approximately 600 students in a 21st-century learning environment. It provides five classrooms per grade level, with three additional flexible classroom areas, a collaboration/resource area, and plenty of natural light.
The new facility also provides a shared community area, two-station gym with 600 bleacher seats, a cafeteria with serving kitchen, and a secured main entrance.
