Project Overview
The scope of this project included the relocation and renovation of an existing patient floor level into an Acute Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, which is located on level 3 of the John Colloton Pavilion.
The new unit contains 24 patient beds and increases efficiency for performing stem cell transplants. The design of the unit incorporates feedback from patients and families, from larger rooms with natural light to new technology that will allow families to participate in care conferences, ultimately improving the patient experience.
In addition, a patient room was built with over 30 tons of lead, constructed specifically for patients being treated with high levels of radiation.
