Project Overview

Tyco Fire Protection Products is a multinational company that designs, manufactures, and services fire suppression, detection, and mechanical technology. Their research and design center, located in Marinette, Wisconsin, specializes in special hazard fire suppression systems. The majority of Tyco’s staff was working in an under-sized, energy-inefficient, aging pre-engineered metal building while others were scattered among several older structures throughout the campus.

Miron began construction of the new facility in the summer of 2010. The new facility is a combination of masonry and glass construction with panoramic views of the testing grounds. The new building is designed to LEED standards and sought LEED certification. As the new structure was located in close proximity to the occupied existing facilities, Miron worked closely with Tyco to maintain complete and safe access to the occupied buildings, testing grounds, and training facilities. Upon occupation of the new building, Miron promptly began removal and recycling of the old building and completed the remaining site work.
