Wisconsin Veterans Home Skilled Nursing Facility

Project Overview

The Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls is a new, 72-bed skilled nursing facility based on the neighborhood concept. The home is designed as a single-story structure with a partial lower level for support services. In keeping with a forward-looking model of care adopted by the VA and other segments of the skilled nursing community, the facility has two neighborhoods, each having two 18-bed households. The neighborhood concept creates a more homelike environment.

Amenities for the Veterans Home include:

• Single rooms, including private bathrooms with showers, for all residents
• A homelike dining room with made-to-order breakfasts and family-style dinners
• A centralized member center featuring an interior park, chapel, beauty/barber shop, café, recreation and activities room, library/computer room, therapy area, and on-site medical examination room
